Victory Foodservice Replaces Older Truck with 2011 Peterbilt

First Truck Delivered Mr. Mike Tyras with truck driver and assistant proudly show off their 2011 Peterbilt.

Victory Foodservice is an independent broad line food distributor based in the Bronx, New York since 1983. Victory Foodservice is a family business with a rich tradition of providing its customers with service, variety and reliability. The company decided to apply for the rebate funding available through the Hunts Point Clean Trucks Program (CTP) because it would allow them to replace an outdated 2004 Freightliner with a newer and more environmentally sustainable vehicle.

Victory Foodservice recycles cardboard, paper, bottles and plastics and has solar panels on their facilities. Purchasing a newer truck with the help of rebate funding from the Hunts Point CTP, was an easy decision for Victory Foodservice because their newer truck runs more efficiently, thereby saving money on diesel, increasing reliability and reducing the amount of maintenance required.

According to Victory Foodservice’s owner, Mike Tyras, “Working with the Hunts Point CTP Team has been great because everyone has been helpful. I would recommend this program to other fleets because the funding makes it easier to purchase trucks that your company needs and helps the environment.”  Victory Foodservice had such a positive experience with the Hunts Point CTP that they are applying to replace another four vehicles through the Program.
